Blue jays are incredible birds, known for their brilliant blue feathers. It was so special, as a child, when I found a feather on the ground, it was like finding a vibrant gem. They often mate for life and have tight family bonds. On occasion, they will make a call that mimics the shrill sound of a hawk. Blue Jays lower their crests when they are feeding peacefully and the black bridle that forms across their face varies extensively, helping them to identify each other. This bird sits on top of a tree remnant, post-fire, serving as a symbol of hope and regeneration.
